The brief.

This was the big one! The final assignment for the whole course. We needed to research thoroughly one innovation or development in technology related to writing and reading, considering the impacts its had on literacy and education. We could choose from a variety of modes to express our ideas. Given my difficulties with audio/video, I could choose from text only or an infographic. I decided to try to take on the challenge of distilling my complex topic into a single visual.

The takeaways.

I honestly found it very difficult to synthesize my information visually, in a way that was personal and told a visual story. I think I might have needed a narrower topic, or to have perhaps chosen the article option. However, I stuck with it because I think the main purpose of an infographic is to distill complex information down to something manageable and accessible. Did I get there? I certainly tried.
